The Himalayas is a location Lara visits in Tomb Raider Legend and in the comics. It also plays a major role in the original and revised background stories of Lara Croft.

Tomb Raider
At the age of twenty-one, Lara was the only survivor of a plane crash deep in the heart of the Himalayas. She was on her way home from a skiing trip.
In the following two weeks she learned how to depend on her wits to stay alive in hostile conditions a world away from her sheltered upbringing. When she walked into the village of Tokakeriby her experience had had a profound effect on her.
Tomb Raider II

While searching for the Talion, Lara travels to Tibet, which is located in the Himalayan region.

Tomb Raider Legend

At the age of nine, Lara survived a plane crash in the Himalayan mountains that resulted in the death of her mother. After miraculously surviving a ten-day solo trek from the crash site to Katmandu, she spent the rest of her childhood under the close tutage of her Archeologist father - the late Earl of Abbingdon, Richard Croft.
Later on Lara travels back to the crashsite, to retrieve the Ghalali Key and reforge the Excalibur.

Shangri-La
In the two part story-arc (Comic Issue 11 and Comic Issue 12), Lara finds the mythical Shangri-La in the Himalayas.
The Trap - Path of the Tiger
In the three-part story named The Trap - Path of the Tiger, Lara travels to Taktsang Ravine. It's a location on the Himalayas where Lara is searching for the Black Mandala.
