- The first time Lara comes across this gate in Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris is in the level Tomb of the Timekeeper, on the way to the second Timebomb. She has to pull out a timed Pull Switch to lower the gate and get past it.
- Tomb of the Lamplighter
- In the Tomb of the Lamplighter several retractable spike gates can be lowered by lighting up Gas Vents.
