Games Convention
Games Convention was an annual video games trade fair held in Leipzig, Germany from 2002 to 2008 - follow-up events of the same name were held up until 2010.
In 2009 the BIU (short for Bundesverband für Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware, the German Federal Association for Interactive Entertainment Software) decided to no longer back the Games Convention but instead organize their own event, GamesCom, in Cologne.
The Games Convention 2009 was held as an mixed online-offline fair, where visitors could physically attend or watch events online. It focused mainly on online-, mobile-, and browser games. In 2010 the Games Convention was converted to a trade for only for professionals. This was also the last year a gaming convention was held in Leipzig.[1]
Tomb Raider at Games Convention
In 2008 Alison Carroll attended the Games Convention as the official Lara Croft Model to promote Tomb Raider: Underworld.
