Desert Railroad | Alexandria | Coastal Ruins |
Alexandria is the 13th level in The Last Revelation and the first level in the Alexandria Section.
Location of the level is, as the name indicates, the city of Alexandria in Egypt.
Alexandria, much like the first three levels in the Karnak Section, can be explored at any time by entering via the Coastal Ruins. However, there's not a lot to see.
It is a coastal city in Egypt. Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great, who gave the city its name, and was intended to be the capital of his empire. After his death in 323 BCE, Egypt became part of the Ptolemaic Empire, after one of Alexander's generals. Cleopatra, whose sunken palace Lara discovers in the sea off Alexandria, was the last of the Ptolemies, at which point Egypt was incorporated into the Roman Empire.
Although it has been ruled successively by Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and the Ottomans, Lara sees little of the city itself. The area that Lara arrives in is fairly suburban and, given it's proximity to the Coastal Ruins must be fairly close to the sea.
