The Torch is a helpful tool found for the first time in The Last Revelation. It makes its return in Tomb Raider Chronicles and also appears in many Custom Levels, as well as - in a new and improved form - in the Tomb Raider Reboot.
When found the torch is unlit. Lara has to find spot where she can light it. This might be a simple camp fire, a lit wall torch, a burning barrel etc.

In the 2013 reboot torches will reprise their role as a main puzzle element. They can be used as a light source and a way to set fire to other objects. The first occurrence will be in the first level, the Scavenger Den. Unlike in the previous games the torch can be extinguished (e.g. by walking through water) and re-lit at a different place.
