The Codepad is a trigger found in Tomb Raider Chronicles during the VCI levels and it's also found in The Angel of Darkness, in Parisian Ghetto. The codepad works as a trigger for locked doors and opens them if Lara punches in the right numbers.
The first time Lara encounters a Codepad is in the level Escape with the Iris when she needs a code from Restroom Access Card to enter the Restroom area. The second time is in the same level when Lara needs to observe a guard in order to get the code and get into a room with a small push switch that deactivates an X-Ray machine and opens a door.
In The Angel of Darkness Lara encounters a Codepad when she gets a code from Pierre to enter the apartment of Francine.
