The Shotgun has been in Tomb Raider from the beginning. At close range it can kill most enemies in a few shots, but its power greatly decreases at range.

Shotgun TR2
Shotgun TR3
Shotgun TR5

In the first Tomb Raiders there was only one kind of shotgun ammo. Since The Last Revelation the Shotgun had two different kinds of ammo, normal ammo and wideshot ammo. The wideshot ammo is best used against multiple opponents or a bigger one like the Dragonheads in Rome.

The Angel of Darkness

In The Angel of Darkness the shotgun is the V-Packer.
