In [[Tomb Raider I]] to [[III]] the mansion (called [[Lara's Home]]) served as a kind of [[Training Level]]. It was not included in [[The Last Revelation]] and only seen in cut scenes in [[Tomb Raider Chronicles]]. The mansion made its return to the games as [[Croft Manor]] in [[Tomb Raider Legend]] where for the first time a version similar to the one known from the movies was used. This is alas inconsistent with the previous games, however one explanation might be given in Tomb Raider Legend, where it is stated that Lara owns three manors in Surrey. It can be assumed that these are two of them.

Remark: This article describes the different Croft Estates in the Tomb Raider Games. For information about the estates in the Comics, see Croft Manor (Comics) and for those in the Movies, see Croft Manor (Movies).

The Croft Estates (also Croft Manors) are three separate manor houses located in Surrey, England. The family was granted the rights to the estates by King Edward VI. in 1547.

In Tomb Raiders I to III, as well as Chronicles we get to know the first manor. In the movies, as well as Tomb Raiders Legend, Anniversary and Underworld we get to know a second one. From screen-shots released on 19 July 2016 one can surmise that this is the same manor that will be featured in the Rise of the Tomb Raider PlayStation 4 version.

In Game Manors

The manor as playable training level was part of the series in the first three games. The estate has been improved in each game, till in The Last Revelation it was no longer present, replaced by an introductory flashback level. After that the manor had disappeared for a long time, only being shown in cutscenes and a menu flyby in Tomb Raider Chronicles. In the latter all doors in the hall remain closed.

A planned Croft Manor for The Angel of Darkness, which could later be seen in screenshots, was not published.

The manor finally returned as special level in the first title created by Crystal Dynamics, Tomb Raider Legend.
