Lara will encounter these Plinth Blades (Object Name) in The Last Revelation e.g. in the level Guardian of Semerkhet.
They are securing pedestals with Goodies on them. As soon as Lara has picked up the goodies the blades will slash out of the pedestal and then down to the floor.
It is best when Lara picks up the goodies from the side, and or jumps out of the way after getting them.
A similar trap are the Floor Blades.
