The Sprint Bar is one of the Status Bars and a feature introduced to the Tomb Raider Games in Tomb Raider III, along with the ability to sprint.

The sprint bar starts to run down as soon as Lara begins sprinting. Once it's run out, Lara cannot sprint for a while. It will replenish once she stops sprinting (when the button is released by the player).

In Tomb Raider III, to start sprinting the sprint bar had to be fully replenished, since Tomb Raider IV The Last Revelation sprinting was possible as long as the sprint bar wasn't fully depleted.
