Joachim Karel is a character from Angel of Darkness and is the game's final boss.
Karel is one of the "major players" of the cabal, he had secretly manipulating Eckhardt to revive the ancient Sleeper.
At the end of the game, Karel doublecrosses Eckhardt and stabs him with the last shard. He then explains to Lara that he was actually helping her, but she finds out that he is of the Nephilim race and is actually a shapeshifter. Lara soon realizes that it was him who killed her mentor Werner von Croy in his apartment, when she sees the symbol on his hand. They battle and he ends up obliterated by the sleepers destruction. He has the power of shapeshifting (which he does not use in battle), flying and firing stunning green bolts, he is also invulnerable to any weapon in Lara's arsenal.
