Lara meets these Mummies in The Last Revelation. They cannot be killed with normal weapons. Lara can kill them with Explosive Ammo or keep them at bay with the Shotgun. They aren't very fast, so she can outrun them easily.
In some cases Lara will find these mummies lying or standing around. They will come to life after she has done certain things.
